About the artists: Together, as Flute Sweet & Tickletoon, the husband-and-wife team of Barbara Siesel and Keith Torgan presents more than two hundred performances of music and story-theatre each year in schools, libraries, theaters and other concert venues across the country. Their company, Tugboat Music, was founded because of a concern that children were not experiencing live performance, classical music, and theatre in their daily lives.

Green Golly & Her Golden Flute
Rapunzel may have been horrified to spend her days trapped in that big old tower but not Green Golly – she  was delighted! So inspired by all that whizzed past her window she couldn’t help but make music. Herein lies the charm of “Green Golly & Her Golden Flute” – this funny and extraordinarily musical event, featuring the music of Mozart, Mendelssohn, Schubert, Gossec, Elgar, Bizet, Chopin and Copland, introduces children to the art of flute and the magic of classical music.“Green Golly” is also available in a version for flute, narrator and full orchestra.

Review: Green Golly & Her Golden Flute is for children ages 5 and up.  You can sample the CD on their website.  The story is told over multiple tracks with additional tracks at the end providing beautiful music.

We have listened to this CD in the car, in the house during the day and at night time.  My Son loved the sound effects in the story.  He laughs every time he hears one.  While he is still a little young to understand the whole story the music is great for all ages.  I like putting the CD on for my Son at night after I have read him some stories.  This gives him a story and soothing music to fall asleep too.

The story provided a great deal of humor for both my Son and I.  The music is very enjoyable making for a great combination and a CD everyone in the family can listen too.  I look forward to the continued listening of Green Golly & Her Golden Flute.  The end of the story was my favorite part, it was hilarious...you will have to check it our for yourself!
