Your Top 10 Creative and Affordable Vacation Ideas

Are you traveling this Summer?  We don't have any big plans on the calendar yet and some of it has to do with how expensive it is to travel.  TwitterMoms has provided us with this great discussion question.  To learn more and read some other great tips visit TwitterMoms.  Here are 10 from Coupon Clippin' Mommy:

  1. Go with another family and share the cost of a rental place
  2. Camp in your backyard
  3. Travel during the week not on the weekends and not over holidays
  4. Go off season if possible.  September is a great time to go to the beach if your kids aren't in school.
  5. Search for coupons before you go (restaurants and attractions)
  6. Eat in.  Making meals can save you tons of money on vacation and if you have kids it's more relaxing.
  7. Take local/day trips and discover all the great places near you
  8. Do a house exchange
  9. Send the kids to the Grandparents
  10. Teach your children to save money throughout the year so they can use their own money to buy trinkets on vacation.
