- Go with another family and share the cost of a rental place
- Camp in your backyard
- Travel during the week not on the weekends and not over holidays
- Go off season if possible. September is a great time to go to the beach if your kids aren't in school.
- Search for coupons before you go (restaurants and attractions)
- Eat in. Making meals can save you tons of money on vacation and if you have kids it's more relaxing.
- Take local/day trips and discover all the great places near you
- Do a house exchange
- Send the kids to the Grandparents
- Teach your children to save money throughout the year so they can use their own money to buy trinkets on vacation.
