#RVA bloggers donate over $450 in school supplies

I had a great time last night meeting up with local bloggers to discuss our back to school deals.  I thought I had done decent until I saw all the great deals these other frugal bloggers snagged.  I blame it on having two children :)

Eleanor from Saving Our Way
Tiffany from Young and Frugal in Virginia
Alison from Richmond Bargains

Alison was the winner of our challenge, she was able to get over $160 worth of school supplies for a little less than $10.  How great is that.  Eleanor was not far behind with over $130 and Tiffany's retail value was $125.  All these supplies will be donated to Fulton Hill Neighborhood Resource Center.  This just proves, a little goes a long way!

We had some great discussion and are already planning another challenge.  I better get back into my couponing so I will be ready.  If you have any ideas on how these frugal minded bloggers can give back, we would love to hear it.

Just found your site referenced @ Young & Frugal in VA - I love that there are some local sites!! What a wonderful idea and outcome on the school supply drive - Congrats! I know the Fulton Hill Center will put everything to good use. I would like to nominate A Grace Place Adult Care Center (Wistar and Staples Mill Rd.) for a coupon challenge. They are a day center for adults with mental and/or physical disabilities as well as adults with Alzheimers. It's a wonderful place run by wonderful people!!! www.agraceplaceacc.org for more info or feel free to email me at suzyqpon at yahoo dot com. They could really benefit from toiletry items (hand sanitizer, soap, incontinence items, etc.). It may seem odd but they have full shower facilities on site and frequently assist their clients with bathing. Thanks.
