                                                                           www.littledivatutus.com

Review: When I found out I was having a girl I was thrilled.  I could now buy all the frilly hair accessories and parade her around in dresses all the time.  I'm not sure why I thought she would have anymore hair than my son did when he was born but she didn't and I knew it would be a long road before she could wear hair bows on their own.  Little Diva Tutus had the perfect solution, headbands and cute little beanie hats!  My sister and I purchased some matching hats for the girls with a few different flowers.  The shipping was very fast and the products were perfect.  My daughter has worn her hats and flower clips multiple times and they are still in great shape.  The quality you receive from Little Diva Tutus is wonderful.

Available in many colors and will fit newborns to tweens. Comfortable enough to wear all year long!

They also offer a great selection of flowers from small to large that you can attach to the headbands or hats.  Each of the flowers include a little rhinestone in the center giving it just the right sparkle.

As you may have guessed from the name tutus are a big part of the shop.  I know I am always ohhing and ahhing over the photos of little babies in tutus!  The tutus range in size from 0-3 months to 31 inches.  Do you dress your little one up to cheer on your team.  Everyone will be talking about how cute she looks in her team spirit tutu.  My only problem with the tutus is I would never want her to outgrow it or I would need to have one in every size!

Make Little Diva Tutus your one stop shop and check out the products they offer for boys!  Sit down, grab a pen and paper and start making your list.  You will want to be sure and follow Little Diva Tutus on facebook and twitter, often times they have great promotions and giveaways going on.

Win it: 1 lucky Coupon Clippin' Mommy reader will win a beanie hat and flower clip.

While I was hunting for a new apartment, a friend of mine was plagued with bedbugs. I was so consumed with making sure the places I looked at were bedbug-free that I didn't consider other pests. Lo and behold, the place I finally signed a lease for has a roach problem, albeit small. I can't stand the thought of using toxics, especially around the kitchen. EcoSMART bug killer sounds like a saving grace!

Susan Brown's Baby Foaming Shampoo & Body Wash Review & Giveaway

"Pure and gentle luxury products for baby and mom."

About: Our pure and gentle luxury products are the result of years of research by my family. My father, a chemist of over 30 years, has been producing naturally hydrating cosmetic ingredients for some of the best-known skin care companies in the world such as Estée Lauder®, Chanel®, Clinique®, L’Oreal®, and Neutrogena®.  When I was a baby, he would bring home his wonderful oils for my mother to use in the nursery and over the years I have continued to use them to keep my skin soft and smooth.  Because they were so effective, my mother and I gave them to friends and family to enjoy. And now I would like to share them with you.

Review: My kids are not big bath takers.  It's usually a battle to get them in the tub and clean before the flailing begins.  Having a shampoo and wash in one saves me time and helps to ensure I get the kids clean.  The light scent is perfect for my little one and does double duty with my toddler.  Squirt the desired amount of foam on your hand or washcloth.  Remember foam goes a lot farther than you think!  I have been able to use this product for a few washes now and am very satisfied with the quality.  The foaming shampoo and wash is easy to rinse off and leaves your baby (or toddler) with smooth skin and a nice clean smell.

The product packaging is very attractive as well which makes it the perfect gift.  It's great to know about a product the is safe for little ones and works great.  Moms need to be treated well too, you can pick up products at Susan Brown's Baby that will provide just the replenishment mom needs.  Whether you are looking for a gift or something for yourself, Susan Brown's Baby has the item for you.  The Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer is a good buy and with winter colds just around the corner who wouldn't want to have this in their purse or diaper bag?

The Art of Cupcakes: More Than 40 Festive Recipes

Product Description: Chocolate and white batters, buttercream frosting, rolled fondant, and two variations of royal icing-these recipes show home cooks how to get bakeshop flavor right in their own kitchens. The 40-plus designs include such amazing treats as cupcakes topped with a fondant flower garden or with a sugary pacifier that's perfect for a baby shower. Miniature wedding cakes-embellished with petite tiers and graceful frills-make a unique grand finale. Instructions and spectacular, mouthwatering photographs make decorating oh-so-easy, even for beginners.

Review: Cupcakes are a great alternative to traditional cake.  They are the perfect proportion for everyone and you don't have to worry about who is going to get the bigger piece.  With cupcakes you can explore your inner creativity and design each one your own personal touch.  If you aren't the creative type or you are just looking for some delicious recipes The Art of Cupcakes is a great book for you.  With step by step instructions as well as templates for some of the designs you will be creating cupcake masterpieces in no time.  You can find fun, festive and easy designs for every occasion; from people, animals, and flowers to baby shower and birthday cupcakes you are sure to wow even the toughest critics with designs and recipes from this book.  I think it's great that each design includes a picture.  I'm not always good at following directions but if I have a picture of what the final product should look like...I can sure try to make it happen.

Most of the designs call for fondant.  This is a type of icing that may be a little tricky if you have never made it or worked with it before.  I am one of those people and while the recipe in the book looks great I did find pre-made fondant at the store!  Right now my cupcakes don't look too much like the pictures but my son loves cupcakes so I can get lots of practice in.  If your planning a special event in the near future you will want to check out The Art of Cupcakes some some great inspiration in cupcake creating.

Buy it: You can pick up a copy of The Art of Cupcakes online or at a book retailer near you.

American Public University: Online Courses

Have you ever thought about going back to school?  As a busy mom it's hard to imagine squeezing in one more thing.  Maybe you work full time and would love to take a few extra classes to get ahead.  American Public University offers flexible and affordale opportunies.  While working on my Master's degree and holding down a full time job I took an online course.  It was great because I could view the material at my convenience.  I have often thought about what I might do once the kids are in school.  Being out of the workforce for a few years I could see myself taking an online class or two.

Flexibility, Variety
  • Many online students are non-traditional students that favor a flexible school schedule, with goals as varied as their lifestyles – from a full- time employee completing an MBA, to a “mompreneur” with a kitchen table business looking to sharpen her business acumen, to a part-time student embarking on a new career.
    • Unlike  traditional universities, American Public University (APU) offers classes  on a monthly basis (versus semesters), with accelerated programs and flexible courses that enable students to earn degrees while balancing family and work  demands.
      • APU courses are 100% online, allowing students to obtain degrees from anywhere in the world on their time, their schedules.
      • APU offers more than 100 online degrees and certificates in subjects ranging from homeland security to management and liberal arts to help students gain the knowledge and skills they need to advance their careers

Affordability
  •  While parents may be planning for their children’s education, APU enables them to also achieve their own educational and career goals along the way.
    • APU’s tuition is among the lowest in the country for accredited online universities, enabling it to offer quality, accredited degree programs at an affordable price.
      • APU’s simplified tuition and fee structure makes it easy for students to estimate and cover expenses:
        • Undergraduate: $750 for a 3 credit course
  • Graduate: $900 for a 3 credit courseAPU’s overall cost for undergraduate tuition, fees and books is $21 per semester hour less than the average four-year public university (College Board 2009-2010 data).
    • APU has not increased undergraduate tuition fees in over 10 years and provides degree-seeking undergraduates with their course materials at no cost through a Book Grant program.
    • APU’s transfer credit program enables students to maximize previous learning and minimize the time and financial investment required to complete their studies

Quality, Credibility
  • Many mothers put their career or education on hold to manage family and household priorities. Coupled with an increasingly competitive job market, one way to stand out from the crowd or kick-start your career is with a specialized degree.
    • The typical expected lifetime earnings of four-year college graduates add up to $800,000 more than those of high school graduates. If college graduates  earning higher degrees are included, the lifetime earnings premium is over $1,000,000.
    • The typical bachelor’s degree recipient can expect to earn about 61 percent more over a 40-year working life than the typical high school graduate earns over the same period.
The greater APUS virtual community numbers  more than 70,000 classmates, 12,000 alumni, and more than 1,500 faculty and staff collaborating across time zones and borders in more than 100 countries worldwide.

Paperspring Invitation Review & Giveaway

About: Paperspring is about sharing and celebrating the important moments in life. In our fast-paced world of e-mail, text messages and other virtual communication, it's still nice to stop for a moment and feel something. The texture of matte paper, the beauty of printed materials, and the portability of paper products make paper a timeless and cherished technology. Our purpose is to bring life to paper and paper to life!

Review: A few weeks ago I received this huge box of awesome products and samples from Mom Magazine.  I was so excited to see the sample from Paperspring, just in time for invitation shopping for my daughter's 1st birthday!  They were generous enough to provide me with credit towards a purchase at Paperspring.

It's easy to find your perfect invitations, announcement or other personalized product on the site.  The search  feature allows you to select whether you want photos, how many, what size card and what color pallette you would like for the product.  Originaly I wasn't sure if I wanted a picture or not so I selected multiple search items.  Since it was for my daughters birthday party I knew I wanted pink!  After much deliberation I choose an invitation that had the same color scheme I had already picked out for the party.

Product Information:
The playful dots and colors of this kids birthday invitation is a great choice for announcing the birthday girl's special day. Upload a picture in this birthday party invitation to make it even more delightful.
Dimensions:     7" X 5" (w x h), flat
Paper type:    100% recycl. cardstock: 130# premium matte cardstock, 100% post-consumer waste recycled and FSC-certified.
Also available in StickyStock: An innovative and fun paper that lets you affix your card anywhere like a post-it (this option adds roughly 10% to your order)
Turnaround:     Four business days
Envelopes:     Blank envelopes included with each order

I didn't have a picture that matched with the card so I had to have an impromptu photo session with my daughter.  Thankfully I got a good one that worked great with the card.  It was easy to add my picture and text.  The photo editor at Paperspring allows you to zoom, crop, rotate or change your picture to grayscale.  I was able to see exactly what the finished product would look like immediately, no need to wait for a proof.  I was notified via email when my order was shipped, you can also keep tabs on your order by visiting your account page.  Did I mention that shipping is FREE!  The invitations arrive very nicely packaged with a note stating that my order was personally reviewed by an associate at Paperspring.  A few days later I received an email asking for my thoughts on the invitations.  I was very impressed with the customer service throughout the entire ordering/receiving process.  With the large variety of products available I will be visiting Paperspring again in the near future and you should too!

Buy it: You can purchase baptism, birthday, thank you and birth announcements at paperspring.

Win it: 1 lucky Coupon Clippin' Mommy reader will win a $50 shopping spree to personalize your own products at paperspring.

Mandatory Entry: Visit paperspring and tell me what you would buy if you won.

10 tips for planning a unique baby shower

I love baby showers, the excitement around a new life coming into the world is both amazing and inspiring.  With babies being born every minute there are lots of people out there planning and throwing baby showers!  How can you make the shower you throw stand out from all the rest?  Here are my 10 tips for planning a unique baby shower:

  1. Don't buy the pre-printed paper products, use solid colors and accent with a theme of your own.  What's worse than having the same party theme as your friend?  If you know the gender of the baby you can easily pick flowers, boats, trucks, dolls, make it fun and original.  Check out Tiny Prints baby shower invitations for some inspiration.
  2. Maybe the mommy to be is having lots of showers, this is a second child, etc.  You can have guests bring their favorite childrens book (with a message to the little one), stock the diaper bag or have guests bring the mommy to be "coupons".  Coupons can include 1 meal, 1 hour babysitting, trip to the grocery store, etc.
  3. Send out printed invitations (you can even buy the mommy to be matching thank you notes).  I love getting things in the mail.  Don't invite people via email or facebook.   Have guests write their address on the envelopes as they arrive (this saves the busy mommy to be from tracking down addresses later).
  4. The subject of shower games is a tricky one.  Make sure you keep the mommy to be in mind when planning the games, will she mind having her stomach measured in front of everyone?  Maybe have a few door prizes instead of playing games.
  5. Time.  Showers don't have to be during the middle of the day on a Saturday.  You can host a dessert shower in the evening or a brunch one morning.
  6. What does a pregnant women like more than food?  To keep costs down you may want to plan a shower away from meal time.  This way you don't have to have a full lunch spread.  Keep it simple and have a few of the mom-to-be's favorite dishes, host a sundae bar and allow guests to get creative with their toppings.
  7. If you know the babies name include their monogram on the cake, cupcakes or favors.
  8. Have guests decorate white onesies (various sizes) for the baby.  You can also use bibs.  These are items parents are always in need of.  When they pull one out they will think of what a great shower (and creative friends) they had.
  9. Host the shower at a location special to the mommy to be.  Maybe she has a favorite restaurant, park, museum.
  10. Pass around paper or a journal and have your guests provide words of wisdom for the parents and baby to be.  What more does a mom need at 2am than some kind words to get her through those early morning feedings.

5 simple things you can do to help keep your childs smile healthy and bright!

While my daughter still doesn't have any teeth my son has quite a few and it's very important that we start proper oral hygiene at the site of the first tooth!  My daughter has a infant toothbrush that she likes to chew on, I think this will help her to get used to the feeling of a toothbrush.  My Son loves to brush his teeth and I think it helped that we make it a fun time with cool toothbrushes (that he picked out) and fun flavorful toothpaste.

  1. Avoid lots of juice or foods that are high in sugar.  You should also practice what you preach.  If parents drink a lot of soda and eat a lot of sweets that is what children will want to do.  It is also important to not give juice from a bottle this can be bad for children's teeth as well.
  2. Have your child brush their teeth after breakfast, after lunch (if possible) and at bedtime.  We invest in fun toothbrushes to make this an enjoyable activity.  Parents should monitor and make sure your child is brushing all their teeth, you may even have to help until they are older.   I know my son likes to sit on the counter and watch himself in the mirror as he brushes his teeth.
  3. Schedule dental appointments starting at a young age (contact your dentist to see what they recommend).  There are a lot of dentists out there that cater to children to make it fun and exciting to visit.  It is also important that you visit the dentist regularly so your children can see you practicing proper oral care.
  4. If your children participate in sports you may consider having them wear a mouth guard.  This can help keep their teeth safe and healthy.  Check with the coach, gym teacher and your dentist to see if this is something you should get for your child.  There are many different kinds, store bought or a mouth guard custom made for your child.  Make sure your child never shares their mouth guard, cleans and stores it properly.
  5. Make flossing and rinsing fun.  There is mouth wash on the market now that shows your children the bacteria in their mouth as they spit it into the sink.  Children may find this cool and it may encourage them to rinse on a daily basis.  You can join in on the fun and try it out too, when children see their parents displaying proper dental hygiene they may be more likely to follow suit.

A fun and frugal toy the whole family can enjoy!

Paper Jamz, is a paper-thin guitar with fake strings but a real guitar sound.  It gives your child an instant rock star experience for under $25 bucks. Most kids go through an “I wanna be a rock star!” phase but oftern parents can't afford to purchase an instrument, lessons, and equipment every time their child changes their mind.  Paper Jamz are a great way to let your children experiment with a rock band and a great price.  You could probably outfit the whole band (there’s an amp, a drum kit, and of course the guitar) for the cost of a "real" guitar.  These are also great for those kids that might feel a little musically challenged.  I recently won one of the guitars and my 3 year old loves it!

To do or NOT to do?

Grocery Shopping with the kids...

I usually do not do my grocery shopping with kids in tow.  The main reason is I find it hard to keep up with my coupons and get all the deals while trying to keep one child in the cart and the other one "touching the cart at all times."  On occasion I have to pick up a few things and the kids must come along.  I used to strap them into the stroller and only get what I could carry but then my son stopped wanting to ride in the stroller.  A few weeks ago I wanted to visit our new Kroger store on the grand opening day.  I found myself going over the shopping trip in my mind the whole 15 minute car ride.

Do I try the stroller?
Do I put my daughter in the umbrella stroller and let my son walk?
Do I try and put them both in the huge carts that have the car attached to them?
Do I put my daughter in the cart and let my son walk?

Not to mention it was the grand opening so I knew the store would be very crowded.  I opted for the last choice and I must say both of my children did extremely well.  We have been on a few mini grocery outings since then and I am finding it harder to occupy my daughter in the cart then worry about my son wondering off.  I am usually armed with lots of snacks, toys and patience!

What are your tricks for grocery shopping with children?

Get to know Courtney from Scraps and Scribbles & a Giveaway!

Tell me a little bit about your blog.  Scraps and Scribbles is a mixture of all of the things that I like and love to do.  It’s got a little something for everyone-crafts, cooking, sewing projects, DIY, home décor, tips, fashion and beauty.

Why did you start blogging? I originally began blogging via our family blog as a way to stay in touch with our family and friends.  Then, as I found other non-family blogs, I thought, I could do that, so I started Scraps and Scribbles so I didn’t clutter up our family blog with all my crafty endeavors.  Plus, I like keeping my family life separate from strangers.  I’ll share things from my everyday life on my blog every now and then, but I mostly keep my personal life personal.

What has been the most rewarding thing about blogging? I’ve learned a lot-about myself and my abilities, about the blogging world and I’ve made some very good and encouraging friends along the way.

If you could swap blogs with any one person for a day, who would it be and why?  Oh, that’s a toughy.  There are so many amazing ladies that I admire in the blogging world that I would be more than honored to swap with, I couldn’t choose just one!

What have you learned/gotten out of blogging? I have found that having an outlet for all of my ideas and projects has actually helped me be more creative.  I look at things differently than I used to-now I look at something and think, “What could I make with that?”

What do you hope your readers get from your blog? I hope that they find something that they can relate to-be it a project that they like and think, “I need to make one of those!” or a recipe that they want to try after seeing it-and that they have fun while doing it.  I also hope that my readers find what I have to say informative and helpful-I love comments where someone tells me that they’ve learned something from what I’ve said.  It makes me feel like I’ve done my job.

What goals do you have for your blog? I would love for my blog to get to the point where it has sponsors and is a recognized name.  But honestly, if that never happens and my readers are happy with what I write, I’d be happy.

List your 3 favorite blog posts that you've written:
What is your favorite product that you have reviewed?  I haven’t “officially” reviewed any products yet, but I’d love to!  My favorite thing that I’ve tried and reviewed on my blog would have to be the Body Solutions products by Avon-they work amazingly and I would highly recommend them to anyone!

What advertiser would you like to work with given a chance? I love the hand stamped jewelry craze that’s going on right now and I’d love to work with Lisa Leonard some more (she recently sponsored a giveaway on my blog and was such a joy to work with!)

What is one thing you wish you had known before you started you blog?
How much time it would suck from my day! And how to better market my blog.

How do you balance blogging, family and free time?
My rule when I comes to blogging is that my family comes first.  If I have too much going on at home, then I take a break from my blog until things get back to normal.  Weekends, I’m pretty much absent from the blog scene as that’s family time-when we get to go do things, all three of us.  I try to get posts done ahead of time when I can, that way I can schedule them and I’m not scrabbling around at the last minute to get something done.  I also try to plan my posts out, that way I’m better prepared.  I mostly blog in the mornings, when the little man is eating breakfast and watching his Sesame Street-it keeps him busy for an hour which is enough time for me to respond to comments, update my FB fan page and get my post done (if I didn’t the night before.)  It’s also when I work on my Etsy shop.  I also usually take a half hour every night to finish my posts for the next day.  Nap time is when I get my crafts and projects done.  I’m still working on balancing everything, but it’s getting there J

Tell me a little bit about yourself.
I’m a Florida native, married to my best friend for almost 5 years now.  We have one little boy who is the light of my life.  I’m also a college student-I start back up in October to finish my bachelor’s degree (only 3 semesters to go!)  I have an associate’s degree in photography and have a little photo business that I do on the side.  After nearly 2 and a half years as a senior bank teller, I happily quit my job to be a stay-at-home mom and 20 months later, I’m still loving it!  My favorite place in the whole wide world is the beach at Anna Maria Island-it’s beautiful and serene and I could spend every day there.

How would you describe your personality? I’d like to think that I’m a pretty laid-back person, but I’m a little shy at first.  I try to be understanding of people and the fact that life can’t be planned, so sometimes things just happen.  And I can be a little silly at times :P

What inspires you? Photography-wise, I love nature.  It is just so absolutely beautiful and yet so simple.  I pretty much find inspiration all around me-I’ll see a swatch of fabric and my mind just starts thinking of all of the things I could make with it or I’ll see a pretty strand of beads and the same thing will happen (not always, but a lot of the time.)

Do you have a favorite quote you'd like to share? My favorite quote of all time is: “We must be our own before we can be another’s.”-Ralph Waldo Emerson and I also love this quote by Gordon B. Hinckley: “Life is only a failure when we call it such.”

What is one thing about you that not many people know? That I surf.  I haven’t been able to do it at all the last 3 years, with living in New Mexico where there is no beach and then having my son, but it’s something I miss and would love to get back into.

What’s your favorite book? Mmmm…I read a lot so that’s a hard one.  Right now I’m reading Enoch the Prophet by Hugh Nibley and it is excellent.

What kind of music do you listen to?  I have kind of eclectic tastes when it comes to music-I like a little bit of everything.  My favorite band, ever, is Third Eye Blind and most of the music that I really like is in the same genre.

Hobbies:  I’m sure you know what most of them are just by looking at my blog.  Aside from crafting, sewing and all that, I like thrifting and shopping with my moms and sisters.

“Big Hit” Avocado League blog tour & a #Recipe

At only 50 calories per ounce (around three slices), and sodium and cholesterol free, avocados make great additions to everyday salads and sandwiches. With nearly 20 different types of vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients in a one ounce serving, they are also a healthy ingredient in any dish.  Kids love avocados too.  This is one of the only green foods my son will eat!

Spice up your guacamole
Peel and mash 3 avocados, add 3/4 cup sour cream, then add hot sauce, garlic salt and lime juice to taste.  Mix it all together and your ready to dip!

DC Club with a little flair
2 slices honey whole wheat bread
3 pieces thin sliced honey ham
2 pieces thin sliced turkey
1 piece swiss cheese
chopped avocado (chop sliced avocado into small pieces)
Mayo, lettuce, onion, tomato if you wish

I like this sandwich toasted so I would recommend toasting it open faced in the toaster (minus the avocado and condiments).  Once it's toasted to your liking add the avocado to the middle of the sandwich as well as the condiments.

Disclosure: I wrote this review while participating in a blog campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Mexican Hass Avocado Importers Association. Mom Central also sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.

FractureMe.com- You have to check this out!

About: Printing and framing pictures is often a huge hassle and can become really expensive really fast. Between getting your photos printed, finding a suitable frame, and figuring out how to mount them, the frustrations (and dollars) have mounted, and the magic has gone away.  However, you now have a contemporary, affordable, and practical way to show off all your favorite family pictures -- Fracture.  Fracture is the fastest, easiest, best way to get your pictures from your camera to your wall.

Fracture's introductory product lets you print your digital pictures right onto glass!  There's no paper, film or anything involved.  Simply ink and glass.  We have effectively combined printing, framing, and mounting into one simple process.  You upload your photo to FractureMe.com, we print it on glass, and send it on it's way with everything you need to mount and display. It's a one-stop, complete photo decor solution.

Fractures are very safe: all sharp edges are removed, and they are completely okay to touch and handle.
Fractures are durable: the prints are shatter proof (unlike traditional glass frames), and the images will not fade for years beyond average prints.

Why I would like to test this product out: We had family pictures taken last weekend and I would love to have one of them printed with Fracture.  If I am one of the first 100 participants, I will be writing a follow-up post with my review of the Fracture product.

Disclaimer: I wrote this blog post in response to a TwitterMoms RAMBO alert, making me eligible to get a Fracture picture frame for review. You can learn more about Fracture at http://www.fractureme.com.

Five of my favorite family time ideas #FamilyTime

With the summer coming to a close and kids going back to school family time is more important and hard to find than ever.  Here are some of the things our family enjoys doing together.

  1. Outdoor play: Spending time in the fresh air is good for everyone in the family.  It gives us all a chance to be loud and have a good time.
  2. Reading: My son loves to read and since he can't read all on his own yet this is a great opportunity for us to do something together.   It's also a nice cuddle time with the kids.  They usually don't like to sit still but are very focused when we're reading.
  3. Walks: We have been going on walks since my husband and I got married.  We first started going on them with our dog and then gradually added in the children!  It's a great time for all of us to talk about our day.
  4. Prayer time: Not only is this a great value we want to teach our children but it's a great bonding time as a family.  We get to talk about what we are thankful for and pray for those we love that are hurting.
  5. Cooking: This varies by age of your children but you can have lots of fun making pancakes, cookies or decorating cakes as a family.  Children like to be involved and see how things are made.

So Easy Toddler Food Cookbook Review & Giveaway

Product Description: The So Easy Toddler Food book provides survival tips and simple recipes for the Toddler years.

  • 48 page Toddler cookbook
  • Family-friendly, simple recipes making it convenient to make healthy meals
  • 35 recipes with photos and USDA nutrition facts information
  • Practical advice and tips for toddler eating behaviors and healthy eating
  • Available in English or Spanish (en español)

Healthy Eating Topics:
  • Six Tips for Developing Healthy Eating Habits
  • The 10 Times Rule for Toddlers
  • Converting Picky Eaters
  • DOs and DON’Ts to Avoid Food Battles
  • Making the Most of Your Child’s Day

Review: This cookbook is filled with creative and fun recipes that will have your toddler eating things you never thought the would.  Each recipe has a picture with it, I really like having an idea of what my dish should look like when it's done.  You can also have your child go through the cookbook and pick out something based on the picture.  This helps to get them involved and interested in the meal which may help them eat it as well.  You will also find nutrition information for each recipe, this helps parents pick foods that meet any dietary needs or restrictions children may have.  The recipe I found the most interesting was Maple Carrots.  My son loves maple syrup yet I had never thought of using it on food other than waffles!  The top picks in our house include, banana bread, frozen banana pops and banana strawberry smoothie.  I love that I can "hide" some other things in the banana bread and my toddler still eats it.

While I really do like the recipes in this book and how they creatively mixed some popular foods with some not so popular ones the part I found most helpful was the tips.  Meal time is a battle in our house.  My son would live off of pop tarts if he could.  We are putting some of these tips to good use and in time I think we can turn out pick toddler into a healthy eater.

Be consistent and firm.  Don't give up: Use the same tactics at each and every meal.  Put new foods on your child's plate first.  Don't give up to stubbornness.

Diapers.com is a whole lot more than diapers!

With two in diapers we go through A LOT!  I won a gift certificate to diapers.com a few months back and immediately used the whole thing.  We were in need of diapers but I also wanted to pick up a few other things.  I never realized how many other items diapers.com sells besides diapers.  It's easy to search for items, search by topic or just browse through the site.  Diapers.com offers FREE shipping on orders over $50 and the delivery is awesome, most items are delivered in two days right to your front door.

Through firsthand research and personal relationships, Suzanne Woods Fisher has collected more than 200 proverbs that uncover the rich heritage, folklore, faith, values, history, and essence of the Plain People. These proverbs serve as teaching tools and maxims for practical living--but they're not just for the Amish. They're for anyone who seeks God's wisdom and truth for everyday circumstances.

Ranging from the simple to the profound, from the serious to the humorous, these sayings will stick with you through life's joys and sorrows. With beautiful full-color photos throughout, Amish Proverbs is the perfect gift for any occasion.

About Suzanne Woods Fisher:  Suzanne Woods Fisher is the CBA bestselling author of The Choice, The Waiting, Amish Peace, and Amish Proverbs. Her interest in the Anabaptist cultures can be directly traced to her grandfather, W. D. Benedict, who was raised in the Old Order German Baptist Brethren Church in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. Benedict eventually became publisher of Christianity Today magazine. Suzanne is the host of a radio show called Amish Wisdom and her work has appeared in many magazines. She lives in California . Find out more about Suzanne at www.suzannewoodsfisher.com.

Review: I have really enjoyed reading through this book.  The proverbs are organized into chapters on specific topics, each chapter begins with a short story followed by pages of proverbs.  While I have heard some of the proverbs before, many of them were new and oh so true.  My favorite chapters were children & family and money.

More is caught than taught
One can learn something new every day
Nothing lasts forever, not even your troubles

Suzanne Woods Fisher's Amish Proverbs is a book filled with inspiration for you and anyone who reads it.  I have the book on the bookshelf in the family room where I can grab it anytime I have a few minutes.  If you are looking for a little something to give as a gift, the hard cover, glossy pages and simple yet stunning pictures make this a great addition to coffee tables and bookshelves everywhere.

Baby Bunch Crayon Rompers Review & Giveaway

About: Combining practicality with presentation, Baby Bunch gifts delight new moms and dads with super soft, 100% cotton baby clothes craftily rolled into blooming bouquets. Perfect newborn baby gifts, the Baby Bunch is safe for hospital delivery where ordinary flowers may not be permitted and makes an extraordinary baby shower gift basket.

Organic Baby Gifts make a perfect pick for eco-minded parents. And with our latest launch - one-pieces rolled to look like cupcakes and lollipops, baby gifts have never been sweeter! The best part? Baby Bunch gifts need no additional wrapping. Buy online and ship direct to enjoy these worry-free baby presents and skip the hassle of packaging.

Review: I recently received the crayon rompers from Baby Bunch and I have to say the creativity of the packaging is awesome.  My son likes to help with opening every package that comes to the house.  When he saw this fun box he immediately wanted to inspect what was inside.  Before I could stop him all three rompers were on the floor and he looked confused.  Maybe he was expecting art supplies?  I love the vibrant colors of the onesies(that has yet to fade after multiple washes!) and their softness makes them perfect for your little one.  Babies can wear the rompers by themselves or they can be paired with any kind of pants, sweater etc.  The solid colors make them a great addition to a babies wardrobe.

The Crayon Rompers include: one red one-piece, one green one-piece and one orange one-piece, each rolled to look like a crayon; the baby clothes are cleverly packaged in a crayon box for the budding artist. Each one-piece is made of super-soft 100% cotton and generously sized for infants 0-6 months, or up to 16 lbs.

Crayon rompers are perfect for the mother-to-be who's not spilling the gender or keeping it such a surprise that she doesn't even know.   Since they are gender neutral colors you can use them baby after baby or lend them to a friend once they are outgrown.  If you have never been to the Baby Bunch site you need to check it out.  They have amazing baby bunch bouquets made with one bib, one t-shirt, two hats, two pairs of socks, one pair of mitts, two burp cloths, one one-piece and one romper suit.  The recipient will love it so much they may not want to take the bouquet apart!  I guarantee any item from Baby Bunch will make you the talk of the baby shower.  You can keep up with Baby Bunch on Facebook and twitter.

Buy it: You can purchase the crayon rompers and other great baby gifts at Baby Bunch.

Win it: 1 lucky Coupon Clippin' Mommy reader will win a set of Crayon Rompers!

Mandatory Entry: Visit Baby Bunch and tell me your favorite item.
Please make sure if your email address is not visible in your blogger profile you leave one in your initial entry!
