Review: With the weather turning hot I want to make sure my hands and feet are in tip top shape.  It's a great time for my feet to breath and I love flip flops!  I have not had the chance to use the nail strengthener for 3-4 weeks but I'm counting down to healthier nails.  With all the rough and tough tasks a mom does day in and day out I am lucky if I go a day without breaking a nail.  The Barielle nail strengthener is just what I need to give my nails a boost.

I'm On The Hunt

When we bought our home a few months ago the first thing we purchased was a sofa and loveseat. The sofa we had was one we got when we first got married nine years ago. It had seen better days and we wanted to get pieces that matched and provided both comfort and seating space for our family and friends. We were able to get a nice set but there wasn't much money left for tables. I also wasn't 100% sure what I wanted and how much room we would have left in the family room.

We do have a nice long wall that provides plenty of space for one of these great console tables.  It provides storage and counter space for all the toys and knick knacks I want out of sight.

We only have one place to put a table so it's not in the way.  This causes a problem when we have friends over and there is no where to put their drinks or plates.  I think we could solve it all by getting some nesting tables.  They would all store under each other and could be spread out when we need to use them.

  
The frugal part of me thinks a coffee table set would be my best buy.  I could get everything I need and it would all match.  Having two little kids a glass coffee table or end table is out of the question.  I think this one meets all my requirements and it's reasonably priced.

 Now if only I could get the money together to make this purchase I would be all set.  Of course I will probably change my mind about 100 times between now and when we actually get them!

Luxury 100% Whole Grain Pasta Recipes & Giveaway

Here are a few recipes to get you started enjoying your Luxury 100% Whole Grain Pasta:


Creamy Penne Pasta with Meat
1 Box Luxury 100% Whole Grain Penne Pasta
1 jar of your favorite pasta sauce
3 Tablespoon cream cheese
Optional: chicken, sausage or other meat (cooked)
Cook pasta per directions then add remaining ingredients and stir until heated.  The cream cheese gives the sauce a creamy texture our family loves.

Baked Spaghetti
1 box Luxury 100% Whole Grain Angel Hair or Spaghetti noodles
1 jar of your favorite pasta sauce
1 bag (2 cups) mozzarella cheese

Preheat the oven to 350.   Cook pasta per directions then add pasta sauce and mix until noddles are all covered.  Pour into deep baking dish or 9*13 pan and cover with cheese.  You can sprinkle additional Italian seasoning if desired.  Use aluminum foil to cover your dish (I spray it with cooking spray so the cheese doesn't stick).  Bake Covered for 45 minutes or until cheese is melted.  This is a staple in our house.  I also like to take this when providing meals to families.  It's easy and inexpensive.

Do You Dine in Style?

My husband is not very fond of our kitchen table.  It has a glass top that wobbles every time we sit at it.  As I write this post, the table has been invaded by play doh toys.  It's much easier to eat at the dining room table than to clear off all the toys and upset the kids.  We have to pick our battles right?  The dining table also offers much more room.  With the leaf put in we can seat 6 comfortably.  Our table was my parents from years ago so somedays I feel like we are sitting in antique dining chairs.  My 3 year old likes to sit in the chair on his knees and kick the back of it.  So much that he has put holes in a few of the chairs.

Needless to say I think it would be cheaper to buy some new dining side chairs than to have it repaired.  I kind of like the idea of mix matched table and chairs.  It reminds me a little of our family; no two of us are the same!  It also provides a more relaxed, less formal feel.  Maybe I could let the kids pick out their own chairs?  If I could pick any chair for myself it would be parsons chairs.  The leather ones would be so easy to clean and took like they would be pretty comfortable. 

I love to have people over so they dining space is very important to me.  With a super tight budget I have to find ways to work with what I have or get things piecemeal.  What does your dining room say about you?  What is your style?

Review: Beanie Designs sent me the beanie visor with flower in brown.  It's one of their customers favorites so I just had to check it out for myself.  It looks exactly like the picture, super cute.  The beanie is well made and the flower is attached in a secure manner.  I love that it's machine washable.  My daughters gets into everything and I'm always washing something gooey or orange off her hands.  Thankfully she hasn't touched the hat with dirty hands yet.  When we do have to wash it I will be putting it in a mesh bag to keep is safe from snagging.  My daughter hasn't worn a lot of hats so I did have a little bit of a hard time getting her to keep it on her head.

I asked for a size 2-4 years to make sure it was big enough for my daughter and so she could wear it a little longer.  It fits her head nicely but I can tell she has plenty of room to grow and still fit into the adorable hat.  With her light colored hair and fair skin she will be wearing her fair share of hats over the next few months.  I hope I can get her used to them before the cold weather hits!

Review: As a mother there isn't a day that goes by where I don't regret something.  Whether it's something I said, something I did or how I handled a situation.  It's not always negative, sometimes I just wonder if I could have done it better, different, etc.  I found this book to be interesting and helpful.  There was more than a few times where I read something and thought, oh wow that's totally what I do.

I was hoping the book was for bother mothers and fathers but it is geared much more towards moms.  I also felt there was a lot about the teenage/older children.  While this is an extremely important time in a child's life my kids are no where near being teenagers so I will have to read up on this again in a few years.

I would recommend this book for a11 Mom's.  I would bet that at some time or another there has been regret in your parenting.  This book helped me to know that I'm not alone and there are things I can do to build great character in my children.  It also taught me that God gave me the two children I have and he has intrusted me with their lives.  I need to rely a little more on Him than I do on myself.

Great Changes and Improvements to Infants’ and Children’s Tylenol

The makers of TYLENOL® will be making product enhancements to both Infants’ and Children’s TYLENOL® products.

What's New:
As early as the upcoming cold and flu season, Infants’ TYLENOL® will include a new, enhanced bottle with a protective opening and push-in syringe which will:

• Provide even better dosing accuracy and ease of administration to infants.  
• Allow for better control when dispensing the medication and reduce spillage
• Further reduce the risk of children being able to get to the medicine in the bottle
• We will also be introducing enhanced bottles with the protective opening on Children’s TYLENOL® products.

There will be new dosing directions related to the change in concentration on Infants’ TYLENOL® as early as this upcoming cold and flu season.

• Infants’ TYLENOL® will have the same concentration of the active ingredient, acetaminophen, as Children’s TYLENOL®, which will standardize dosing across our products and age groups.
• We have been working closely with other manufacturers of pediatric acetaminophen products to encourage an industry wide transition to one concentration across infants’ and children’s acetaminophen products.

When Infants’ TYLENOL® products return to store shelves, they will include these changes.  As always, Infants’ and Children’s TYLENOL® products will continue to include specially designed dosing devices appropriate to the age of the child. Parents and caregivers should contact their child’s healthcare provider if they have questions about dosing instructions.
