                                                         www.chuckecheese.com

Review: We haven't been to Chuck E. Cheese's in about a year.  My daughter is just getting to the age where she can enjoy playing some of the games and play in the toddler zone.  I was excited about the opportunity to try out their new pizza and treat my family.  It just so happened that this coincided with great success on the potty training front so it was extra special for my son.

From the minute I told my son we were heading to Chuck E. Cheese's he was ecstatic.  He wouldn't stop talking about it.  It's been almost a week and he's still telling everyone about our trip.  We ordered up our pizza, snagged a table and my husband took off with our son and I followed my daughter around.  My son preferred the games that gave tickets and didn't understand why some of them didn't spit them out.  My daughter tried some of the games and played in the toddler zone for awhile.
The pizza arrived and it took a little coaxing to get everyone back to the table.  My husband, son and I all enjoyed the pizza.  I thought it was very good and enjoyed it just as much as pizza you would get from a delivery service.  We weren't able to finish the whole thing as the kids were anxious to spend the rest of their tokens.  We took it home and it was gone by the next morning...someone must love pizza in our house!
The only thing that is hard for our family when we venture to Chuck E. Cheese's is that they don't offer many gluten free options for my daughter.  We were able to pack her a few things but she would much rather play than eat!  If you're looking for a great place to take the family so the kids can burn some energy and you can enjoy some pizza; check out the Chuck E. Cheese's store locator for one in your area.

Win it: 3 Coupon Clippin' Mommy readers will each win a family pass to try out the new pizza.  The pass includes a large pizza, four drinks and 30 tokens!

Mandatory Entry: Tell me what your kids like doing most at Chuck E. Cheese's.
Please make sure if your email address is not visible in your blogger profile you leave one in your initial entry!

Energizer® Weatheready® Compact Rechargeable LED Light Review & Giveaway

As weather watchdogs like Weather Services International are predicting 15 named storms in 2011, including eight hurricanes, two or three of which may hit landfall in the United States, preparedness is so important. Hurricanes often spur additional weather emergencies including tornadoes and flooding. While severe storms, tornadoes, floods and hurricanes are inevitable in spring, summer and even into fall, planning and preparation can make severe weather challenges manageable and even help save lives.

One of the most common occurrences in storms--regardless of severity--is the loss of electricity. Losing electricity does not have to mean loss of all power. Whether it is a brief inconvenience or a prolonged outage, use flashlights or lanterns and make sure they are easily accessible for all family members. Including flashlights in a preparedness kit is helpful for knowing where alternate lighting sources are when you need them.

Energizer® Weatheready® lights feature long-lasting LED technology. This extensive flashlight line is designed to provide extended runtimes so your family has light where and when it is needed most, therefore avoiding the use of candles when the power goes out. Because, according to the National Fire Protection Association, more than 15,000 fires are caused annually by candle use, and the risk of a fatal candle fire is greatest when the candles are used as a light source. A flashlight for every family member ensures safe lighting during power outages.

Energizer® Weatheready® Compact Rechargeable LED Light (MSRP: $15.99)

  • Three bright white LEDs
  • Recharges hundreds of times with embedded NiMH battery
  • Turns on when the power goes out
  • 2 mode slide switch, high & Low
Review: We have had some pretty bad thunderstorms this summer.  One leaving us without power for a few hours.  Thankfully the power went out while it was still light outside so we were able to search the house for flashlights.  We found a few but nothing that would have really helped us had the lights remained off any longer.  I'm not sure what we would have done if the power had gone out in the middle of the night!

Energizer® Weatheready® Compact Rechargeable LED Light to the rescue.  We haven't had anymore storms that have threatened the power but this light has remained plugged in since I received it.  I love that the light will automatically come on when the power goes off.  I did use it the other day when I was looking in the back of a cabinet for something.  It provided plenty of light for me to see what I needed too and the light is not bulky so any one in the house can use it if necessary.

I recommend that you work on a list of what you might need to be weather ready.  Then head to the store and get those items together.  When your in the midst of the storm it's already too late.  While your at the store, pick up the Energizer® Weatheready® Compact Rechargeable LED Light.  Not only is it handy for when the power goes out but it's great for your everyday flashlight needs.

Buy it: You can purchase the Energizer® Weatheready® Compact Rechargeable LED Light at a store near you.

Win it: 1 Coupon Clippin' Mommy will receive their own Energizer® Weatheready® Compact Rechargeable LED Light.

Mandatory Entry: Visit the Energizer® site and tell me another product you need in your house.

Guest Post: The Ants Go Marching One By One: A Simple Craft Idea for Kids

My daughter’s art teacher comes up with the most creative ideas. I guess that’s why she is an art teacher… Yesterday, my daughter came home with a backpack full of ants. Well, a page full of them, anyway. The ants were adorable—and any craft that can make ants look cute must be good, right? Better yet, the project was deceptively simple to create. If you have a little bug lover…or are planning for a summer picnic…here’s a fun craft idea:

Materials Needed:
  • White construction paper
  • Washable black paint
  • A pencil with a brand new eraser
  • Fine-point, felt-tipped pen
Instructions:
  1. Dip the tip of the eraser into the black paint.
  2. Make three dots in a row onto the white construction paper. Repeat this many times on the paper, depending on how many “ants” you want to have crawling in your scene
  3. When the paint is dry, use the fine-point pen to draw in six arms and legs, and two antennae on each little crawler.
I guarantee that your little one will love this simple project that she can display proudly on the refrigerator.

Piggy Paint Non-Toxic Nail Polish Review & Giveaway

About: Piggy Paint is a natural, eco-friendly nail polish designed for fancy girls. Its non-toxic, hypoallergenic formula makes it safe to use on all piggies.  Piggy Paint dries to a hard, durable finish that can easily be removed with our eco-friendly, low odor Piggy Paint nail polish remover.  Both are made in the USA!  Available in an assortment of gift sets perfect for Holidays and other special occasions. Say good-bye to harsh, smelly chemicals and hello to Piggy Paint...it's as Natural as Mud®!

Review: I love having my nails painted and the thought of painting my daughters nails for super cute colors was very appealing.  I have had a few friends try out Piggy Paint but I was really excited to try it out for myself and I have been very happy with the experience.  I read some of the tips on the website about applying the nail polish to a child.  My daughter is a little squirmy so I followed their advice and applied the polish after bath time when she was a little more settled down.

The first time I painted M's toes I used the pink polish, I like the shine it had too it and went with more of her clothes!  I can paint my own toe nails no problem but when it comes to painting someone else, I'm not very good at it.  The good thing is she's a toddler who doesn't talk much so she didn't complain.  She liked that she was getting color on her toes like Mommy.  She kept pointing at my toes and then at hers!
Piggy Paint sells nail polish remover that is safe for little feet.  I was hoping that I wouldn't need to get any and the polish would come off on its own.  My daughters pretty pink toes lasted about a week and a half.  This was a good amount of time and when it was gone she was ready to try out another color.
The purple was very cute too.  I think as time goes on she will get better and better about sitting still while I paint her nails.  I have not braved her finger nails just yet.  Once we have the toes under control we will give the finger nails a test run.

Piggy Paint is a great way for your little one to feel a little grown up in a safe way.  You can also find puppy polish for man's best friend and Piggy Paint Refined for adults.  The refined nail polish is safe to use during pregnancy.  Check out the Piggy Paint website www.piggypaint.com for valuable product information.  Follow on twitter.com/piggypaint & Facebook for secret sales and special offers!

Buy it: You can purchase Piggy Paint, online. Use the discount code Piggy10 for 10% off anything at www.piggypaint.com. They ship worldwide with international postage rates applying!

*Canadian Shipping Rates to Residences are a flat rate determined by Canada. They charge Piggy Paint $35 regardless of Size & Weight. Piggy Paint has discounted the rate to $25 for their customers.

E-Mealz Review & 3 Month Subscription Giveaway

About: E-Mealz relies on a team of experienced meal planners, writers and editors to create new dinner menus every week that are designed around grocery store sales, seasonal specials and diet preferences. For $5.00 per month, subscribers download a recipe plan for the week with a matching aisle-by-aisle grocery list. The easy-to-follow recipes usually contain fewer than seven ingredients to allow for prep times of less than 30 minutes.  It also helps families stay within a predictable budget by being prepared with a detailed list to use at the grocery store.

The E-Mealz program provides a consistent and reliable approach to food budgeting by factoring the weekly cost of ingredients into each menu plan. Menus are created around a budget of $75 per week for families and $35 per week for couples.

E-Mealz was created by sisters Jane DeLaney, mother of four, and Jenny Cochran, mother of three. The sisters were frustrated by the challenge of coming up with healthy, budget-conscious meals for their own families and inspired by their own mother’s frugal ways, they launched the program in 2003.

The goals of E-Mealz is to provide
•    Delicious family friendly recipes
•    Ingredients bought on special and/or at the best price available
•    An easy and stress free home-cooked dinner
•    Precious moments with the most special people in your life

Review: A friend recently told me about E-Mealz and how it was saving her money and she saw that they had a gluten free menu option.  I was sold at gluten free.  I checked out the site and viewed a few of the sample menu plans.  This is great because it can help you narrow down which plan will work best for your family.

Since my daughter is recently gluten free and I don't have the time or energy to cook multiple meals I try to make the majority of our main dishes gluten free, that is the plan I opted to try out and E-mealz was generous enough to give me a 1 month subscription for review.  With the gluten free menu option I was able to choose whether I wanted the Wal-Mart shopping list or a shopping list that would work in any other grocery store.  Since I do most of my shopping at stores other than Wal-Mart I opted for the any store list.   Your meal plan for the upcoming week is posted on different days of the week, depending on your plan.  All you have to do it log in to your account and print off the menu and shopping list.  Wow, that is so much easier than me goggling gluten free recipe ideas and trying to figure out what I need for each nights meal!

What I like about E-Mealz:
  • Variety of menu- for a family that could eat chicken 5 nights a week, the recipes were a nice change.
  • Side ideas are included- I spend way too much time pondering what side item goes with the main dish.  With E-Mealz the side items are included with a recipe (and they are easy).
  • Print and go- I can even add miscellaneous items I need from the grocery store right on the E-Mealz shopping list.  Purchasing the items for the whole week can save lots of time and when you get ready to make something you know you have exactly what you need!

The only thing that didn't work for us was each week includes a seafood meal.  I'm not a big seafood eater so we don't eat it at home.  We were able to remedy this with a family favorite in place or depending on the day we may pop in a pizza (gluten free for my daughter of course).  You can also check out the E-Mealz blog for recipes, tips on how to simplify your life, organize your days, and plan family fun.

As a busy mom who struggles to come up with healthy and new meals for my family, E-Mealz was a nice break.  I was able to use it as a guide and move things around if I needed to make something that was a little quicker one night.  With the time, energy and money you will save the $5 a month is easily recouped with this service.

Buy it:  Visit E-Mealz to find the best plan for your family.  You can use the code CCMOMMY to get 10% off.

Win it: 1 Coupon Clippin' Mommy reader will win a 3 month subscription to the E-Mealz plan of their choice.

Mandatory Entry: Visit E-Mealz and tell me which plan you might pick if you win.
Please make sure if your email address is not visible in your blogger profile you leave one in your initial entry!

Clearly Fresh Bags Review

About: Clearly Fresh® bags are large clear zip bags (12” X 14”), with a breathable 3 inch square membrane on one side. Each pack contains 10 bags. These bags enable you to keep your fruits and vegetables fresher longer for less waste and more savings. Its large size, allows you to store an entire bunch of bananas or a whole head of lettuce with room to spare. PLUS the bags are re-closeable and recyclable.

Here is a list of some of the items Clearly Fresh works best on:
• Bananas
• Avocados
• Apples
• Mangos
• Papayas
• Asparagus
• Broccoli
• Carrots
• Lettuce
• Cucumbers
• Berries
• and more

What makes Clearly Fresh bags unique is the use of BreatheWay technology. BreatheWay allows fresh fruits and vegetables to create their own ideal atmospheres for natural storage life extension. Simply place fresh produce items in the Clearly Fresh bag when returning from grocery shopping & store in your standard fashion (i.e.: lettuce in the refrigerator, bananas on the counter).

Clearly Fresh bags can extend the shelf life of fresh fruits and vegetables by up to 50%.*
*The fresh produce has the greatest storage life extension when it is placed into Clearly Fresh bags as quickly as possible after purchase at the grocery store or farmers’ market. Because produce has often traveled a good distance to reach your store, storage life will vary slightly depending on the age and condition of the produce. However, we encourage a side-by-side comparison with your standard produce storage methods and let the Clearly Fresh bags demonstrate their value themselves.

Review: I recently had the opportunity to try out the Clearly Fresh Bags.  I usually just set my fruit on the counter or in the refrigerator and hope it stays good until we eat it all.  With these bags I don't have to worry about wasting fresh produce.  I must say that since I got these bags I have been purchasing more fresh items and we have been eating more fresh items.  So much that they are always gone before I can get a comparison picture.

I have noticed the biggest difference with the bananas.  They used to start getting brown after only a few days.  With the Clearly Fresh Bags they are still yellow after more than a week.  I also like that these bags will detract fruit flies and keep the produce clean from other items in the fridge.  If you struggle to get your fruits and vegetables fresh until your family eats them, check out the Clearly Fresh Bags; they might be just what your looking for.

Buy it: You can purchase Clearly Fresh Bags online for $3.99.

For each person who takes the pledge, Bagel Bites snacks will donate $1 to Boys & Girls Clubs of America, up to $50,000. In addition to raising money for Boys & Girls Clubs of America, people who take the pledge also will receive a $1 coupon good for their next purchase of Bagel Bites pizza snacks.

Review: We are big pizza lovers at our house so I was excited to share this healthier version with my family.  I stocked up on the cheese & pepperoni Bagel Bites as I knew those would suit our family tastes the best.

Each crispy bagel is covered with our own tomato sauce and topped with mozzarella and the #1 favorite topping. Mmmmm, pepperoni.

Some of the things I like most about the Bagel Bites are, they take 10 minutes to cook in the oven, can be cooked in the microwave in less time, only 9 to a pack so you don't over indulge, healthier option for my family and they are the perfect size for little mouths.  I remember making bagel pizzas as a kid so its nice to have this quick and easy snack for the boys.  I made them just the other day with instructions for my husband to put them in when the over beeped.  I ran out for less than 20 minutes and they were all gone when I got home!  I'm sure glad I had another box on hand.

I'm actually thinking about serving up some Bagel Bites at my sons upcoming birthday party.  It's a snack kids and parents will both enjoy.

Buy it: You can purchase Bagel Bites in a freezer section near you.

Win it: 2 Coupon Clippin' Mommy readers will each win 2 FREE Product coupons for Bagel Bites.

Mandatory Entry: Take the Pledge to Snack Simply (don't forget to print your $1 off coupon)

Sleeping Arrangements

With our new house came a larger bedroom; for most people this wouldn't be a dilemma.  However our bed looks a tad small in the room and the extra space gets cluttered with clothes and the kids toys. Right now we have a traditional bed frame but a platform bed would be really cool looking and maybe a little more modern.  I like the nice clean look on the bottom of this style bed.  Of course if you saw everything under the bed you might understand why a storage platform bed is a must.   The drawers are sleek and can conveniently hide all my junk!

To take Better advantage of the size of the room I would have to try and convince my husband that we needed a king size platform bed. I don't think that would be too hard though, with two toddlers and a dog a king sized bed would be awesome.  The kids would have a great time jumping on the bed and piling up pillows.

Say NO! to Auto e-book Review

About: I have broken down the complicated method of using the manual settings on slr cameras and narrowed it down to 3 basic questions you must ask yourself before taking a shot.  I want to make it affordable to everyone, so selling the e-book for just $10.  It is 18-4×6 pages with picture examples and settings of those images to help you in any lighting situation you may find yourself.  I intentionally made it pocket sized so it was easily transportable.  This is an e-book, so you can print it and spiral bind it or put a ring on it, or even slip the 4×6 prints inside of a mini photo album to bind the book.

Review: I have always been fascinated by people who know how to use the manual settings on their cameras.  Until just a few weeks ago I can honestly say I had never turned the dial to M.  I really like to take pictures, with two cute kids (I'm a little bias) I am clicking non stop.  I do however want to be a little more in control of my picture taking.  The Say NO! to Auto e-book seemed liked a great resource to start with.  One of the first things that peaked my interested was that this e-book could be printed out and spiral bound for an on the go reference guide.  I think I referred to it every time I touched the camera to make a change!

Now I will be the first to admit that I am no where near comfortable with saying No to auto completely, I'm getting there.  I'm sure with time it will become second nature as to which buttons to press to adjust the ISO where now the moment seems to pass before I am all set to take the picture.
I took the pictures above with the manual settings.  I really like the coloring and how it turned out.  Look for another post in a few days as I work on some auto versus manual pictures.  Kristen has some amazing ones on her website that show what a difference adjusting the settings and working in manual mode can make.

This book is very easy to understand and provides a great guide for setting up your camera to take quality pictures in the manual mode.  Cameras come in all shapes and sizes so you may need to have out your owners manual to figure out how to adjust particular settings.  I'm looking forward to getting in some more manual picture taking practice with the help of Say NO! to Auto.  Are you looking to explore all your camera has to offer?  If so; I recommend checking out this ebook.

Buy it: You can order your own copy of Say NO! to Auto e-book online at Kristen Duke Photography.

Review:The Read and Share Devotional by Gwen Ellis is a wonderful way to share God's love with your children.  Each devotional is four pages, the first page is a short story, followed by the Bible story, ending with ways you can read and share together as a family.  They recommend working through one devotional a week making the book last an entire year!  You can view some of the pages HERE in the flipbook.

There is also a video and download available on the Read and Share tab on the Tommy Nelson Facebook Tab.  I can see this devotional book becoming a vital park of our weekly routine year after year.  I hope one day that both of my children will be reading these stories to me and reciting the prayer each night.  The pictures are very cute and match perfectly with the Read and Share Bible.

HOT Summer Deals at Target

I was at Target yesterday and snagged some 50% off Summer deals but then I heard it may be 75% off today so of course I headed back!
Here's what I got:
8 boxes of 18 count Summer fruit snacks $0.62
3 packages of 30 ct plastic cups (summer) $0.75
1 package of summer press in seal $0.75

I also noticed that the summer patterned Glad food storage containers were 75% off as well.  I recommend checking different areas in your store for summer clearance.  You never know when someone might return an item to the wrong spot.  I found the cups and press in seal wrap on the shelf with similar products, not with the summer clearance.  If it says summer, scan it, you could be in for a nice surprise!
