I recently took a trip to Walmart to check on some dog treats. I try to do most of my shopping trips in the evenings so I don't have to take the kids. It's also a lot less crowded in the evenings. I took my trip on the same day I had a cavity filled so I made sure to take some medicine before I headed out. I also checked on my dogs treat supply and added a few things to the shopping list I regularly keep on my phone.
I headed over to a Walmart that's only a few months old. It's huge and usually not too crowded. I'm pretty familiar with this Walmart so I knew exactly where to find the pet care products. Since they are in very back of the store I took my time getting to the section and browsed some clearance items.
I picked up some packs of M&Ms for cheap! I plan to use them while potty training my daughter. I noticed that the store had a lot of "New Years Resolution" displays set up. I noticed organizational products and healthy diet options. After taking my time I got to the pet care section. I was very impressed with the wide selection of products. There were three full aisles of pet care products. My dog has had a few health issues over the past few months so I am a little picky about what treats she can have. I typically stick with the products that we know and love and that have been okay for her to eat. I did notice there are a lot of healthy options when it comes to dog treats.
One of the treats that's a staple in our house is the Milk-Bone® Crunchy original dog treats. I like them because they are small and affordable. I often find coupons for Milk-Bone® and had one for $1/2. I did notice that the smaller packages were a better value even without the coupon. I picked up 2 because they are perfect for training pups!
I also checked out Milo's Kitchen and Lean Pup Peroni treats. I have never purchased Milo's Kitchen before but picked up some beef jerky snacks. I thought they would be easy to tear into pieces so the treats would go further and the dog wouldn't get overloaded with treats.
In my opinion these treats didn't look that appealing...
My pup is a little older, she is a well behaved dog but since we moved we are trying to train her to use the bathroom without the leash. She's goes outside a few hundred times a day so this makes it a lot easier on me to be able to open the door and let her out. However she gets sidetracked and doesn't want to come back in. I can use these treats as an incentive for listening to me and coming into the house. I also picked up a special toy for the dog as a bonus if she continues to do well with listening to me.
The holiday toys were on clearance so I snagged a cute toy for super cheap! I was able to pick up a few more items while on my shopping trip. All in all it was a great trip and the checkout was super fast. I did walk away with more items than I had anticipated but isn't that how it goes when you head to Walmart? #ILoveMyk9 and I can't wait to share with you next week just how we put these tasty treats to use.

My dog LOVES Pup Peroni treats & Milk Bones! He will definitely do MANY tricks for a Pup Peroni treat because that's how much he loves them. I never thought to visit Walmart for discounted Christmas dog toys!
She looks so cute! Good luck with the training.
