I Am Sleepy! with Sukey Molloy CD Review

About: I Am Sleepy! blends traditional (and not often heard) lullabies, original songs that Sukey composed especially for nighttime listening, and stories and poetry she created with the intention of bringing a sense of both security and mystery at bedtime.  The album weaves its way through a calming, quiet, yet always engaging and sometimes playful nighttime "under the stars" tapestry imbued with the sounds of crickets, owls, and lambs. Sukey's gentle storytelling and vocals are complemented by the contributions of her classically trained musician friends on harp, recorder, violin, dulcimer, guitar, bass, and piano.

Track List:

The Moon Shines Down
Hush My Little One
Evening's Coming
Quiet Night Poem
Twilight Song

Review: Sukey Molloy has a soft voice which is soothing.  The sounds in each of the tracks are calm and won't jar children or stimulate them to stay awake.  If you're child likes to fall asleep with you singing or talking with them than I Am Sleepy! might save your husband when you're off on a girls night out.

My daughter has a CD player in her room.  For her its a great way to wind down and she's usually asleep before the CD has completed.  A CD is also much easier to take with you when traveling versus a sound machine or soother.  The songs are all new to me but I've enjoyed listening to I Am Sleepy! and learning some of the words.  You can preview the songs online at Amazon.  They also have each of the tracks available for download!
