Review:  Have you heard of Jesus Calling® by Sarah Young?   It's a great devotional guide for adults.  I have had multiple friends recommend it and it's a book we regularly give to leaders in our MOPS group.  When I saw that Sarah Young had added a storybook for children and teens I was excited to check them out.  The Jesus Calling® Bible Storybook is aimed at children ages 4-7.  Here are a few of my favorite things about the book.

• Colorful pictures
• Short to the point stories
• Handy bookmark

Most of the stories include a Jesus Calling section which includes key verses and devotions.  The key verses are not always from the stories passage but they are easy for children to work on remembering.  The devotional message is written as if your child is having a conversation with Jesus.  As an adult this is easy to understand and a great way to think of conversation with Jesus.  I see a little confusion with the wording when reading it to my young children as I explain that "I" means Jesus not Mommy.  I can see this valuable part becoming more a part of our daily reading as the children get a little older.

The illustrations are great!  They go with each story very well.  This is important for young children as it help them to visualize the stories and bring them to life.  I know most of the images I have from Bible stories stem from book illustrations shared with me as a young child.
